Taxes for cozmetiks and parfumes in Uganda

Question:
My company is planning to commence importing a cosmetics and perfumes from the best world designer brands in Uganda. What are the import taxes for such products? Are there any exemptions?

Answer:
According to the financial year 2012/2013 there has been an introduction of a 10% tax on cosmetics. It should also be noted that there are no tax exemptions for Designer cosmetics and perfumes.
