Stanbic Bank regained its pole position as it yielded the highest gains throughout the week of trading opening 21st November 2011 and closing 25th November 2011. This was after the bank listed its long awaited bonus shares. Anticipation of the bank listing an extra 5,118,866,970 bonus shares following approval from Capital Markets Authority saw the make huge gains which represented over 95% of the traded value at the USE for the week in review.

Stanbic Bank opened the week of trading with selling 485,246 shares at a price of UG shs115 per share, picking UG shs55.8m in turnover.

British American Tobacco Uganda traded 500 shares, yielding turnover of UG shs682,500. The share price was UG shs1365.

National Insurance Corporation made gains of UG shs114,975 in turnover from 2,555 volumes traded at a price of UG shs45 per share.

Uganda Clays sold 3,475 shares realizing UG shs173,750 in turnover. The price per share was UG shs50.

After selling 1,009,010 shares, Stanbic Bank made the highest gains on Tuesday, totaling to UG shs111m in turnover at a weighted average price of UG shs110.

DFCU bank sold 2,693 shares, realizing UG shs2.7m in turnover at an average price of UG shs1000.

British American Tobacco Uganda traded 500 volumes at an average price of UG shs1395 per share, picking UG shs697,500 in turnover.

Uganda Clays made gains of UG shs4.5m in turnover from 112,000 shares traded at a weighted average price of UG shs40.

As the market went into Wednesday, there was suppressed activity. British American Tobacco Uganda traded 500 shares from which it managed to post UG shs712,500 in turnover. The price per share was UG shs1425.

Bank of Baroda made gains of UG shs2m from 10,000 volumes traded at an average price of UG shs205 per share.

National Insurance Corporation sold 100 shares, realizing UG shs4500 in turnover at an average price of UG shs45 per share.

Stanbic Bank made the highest gains of the day at UG shs6m after selling 59,685 shares at a weighted average price of UG shs101.

Thursday was characterized by suppressed activity as only three companies traded. Uganda Clays made the highest gains of the day at UG shs8.9m from 197,859 shares at a weighted average price of UG shs45.

Stanbic Bank sold 64,040 shares, picking UG shs5.8m in turnover at a weighted average price of UG shs92.

British American Tobacco Uganda posted UG shs727,500 in turnover from 500 shares traded at an average price of UG shs1455.

Stanbic Bank continued to dominate the market after it picked UG shs244.9m in turnover from 2,717,961 shares traded at a weighted average price of UG shs90.

British American Tobacco Uganda traded 1500 shares at an average price of UG shs1485 per share. The turnover yielded was UG shs2.2m.

Bank of Baroda made gains of UG shs8m in turnover from 39,845 shares traded at an average price of UG shs200.
