India Based Apollo Group of Hospitals to Invest In Uganda

Ugandanswith serious health complications may soon start getting treatment from within Uganda if Apollo Group of Hospitals fulfills its pledge of establishing a medical centre in the country.

This great news was given by the Director of the Apollo Hospitals Group, Professor Anupam Sibal during a news conference in Kampala.

Professor Anupam Sibal told a news conference that many Ugandans who have been seeking treatment abroad will soon start accessing seamless healthcare services for serious complications without moving outside the country.

Anupam announced the plans of setting up an Apollo Clinic, an information Centre and a Telemedicine network in Uganda.

Dr Sibal said that the Apollo Hospitals Group intends to provide diagnosis to patients and offer follow-up medical services within the country to cut costs.

Professor Sibal said that in some scenarios patients suspecting to have Heart and Kidney problems incur huge expenses for simple diagnosis which can be done within the country with the help of the advanced technologies.

He further noted that after thoroughly studying Uganda’s Health Care system and the health problems, the group that has conducted over 125 000 Open heart Surgeries and 8000 Kidney transplants may consider opening up a Heart Surgery Institute in the country.
