by neil
(kampala)

Question:

I am an EU citizen who is working in cooperation with Makerere university, i will be working in Kampala for the next 14 months. I have a contract and letter of invitation from my host institution. Uganda did not have a consulate at my home country. I have now arrived in kampala and wish to apply for my work visa, is there some place in kampala where i can go and apply or do i have to send it to the nearest consulate to my home country...

Answer:

Hello Neil, since you're already in Kampala, Uganda's capital city, you do not need any visa.
What you now need is a work permit which you can obtain from the Uganda Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kampala on Plot 75 Jinja Road.

You can find more information about Uganda Work permits on here.
