9 Days Uganda Big Game Safari in Uganda National Parks

Day 1- Travel from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

You will begin your journey early morning from Kampala and drive towards the northwest through the famous Luwero Triangle and Masindi Town.

Your first stop over will be at Masindi hotel for lunch.

You will then proceed to Murchison Falls National Park via Budongo forest.

Get your Camera ready and drive to the top of the spectacular falls where you will enjoy the Nile's perfected beauty. You will see the great Nile river compressing and squeezing itself through a 7- meter wide canyon for over 1 kilometer then droping down.The 150-meter drop of the falls creates a thunderous roar and a beautiful rainbow in a plume of spray, real beauty you will always remember.

Your day one activies of the 9 day big game safari to Uganda National Parks will end in the evening and you will then have your dinner and overnight stay at the tourist accommodation of your choice near the park.

Day 2- Take your Game Viewing Safari around Murchison Falls National Park

After a cup of coffee, embark on an early morning guided game drive on the northern bank of the Nile where be able to spot elephants, lions, Cape buffalo, rothchild's giraffes, hartebeasts, waterbucks, oribi, bushbucks, bohor reed bucks, hyenas, and on rare cases leopards.

You will then return to the lodge for your breakfast.

You will then relax at the swimming pool side until luch time.

After lunch, you will safari upstream by boat to the calm Victoria Nile and the base of the falls just tens of meters from the "Devil's Cauldron."

Here you will be able to enjoy a variety of water animals including hippos, crocodiles and over the 17-kilometer stretch you may also see elephants, waterbucks and Uganda kobs.

This is also the habitat of many bird species.

After taking enough photographs for your business travel magazine, return for dinner and an overnight stay at your best safari lodge at Murchison Falls National Park for the second night.

Day 3- Safari through the Albertine Rift and Travel to Kibale Forest National Park

On day three of your 9 day Big game Uganda Safari you will greet the early morning sun for yet another game drive to spot those wild species you could have missed on the previous day.

Return to your lodge for breakfast at around 10: 30am then relax around your Safari lodge until lunch at 1 pm.

After your lunch you should be ready to cross the Nile by the ferry at exactly 2pm.

You will then drive via the Albertaine Escarpment of the western Rift valley on the Masindi-Hoima-Fort portal road.

This will be a long drive south via Hoima to Fort Portal, passing though verdant countryside and traditional homesteads and farms.

You will take at least four hours of driving to Fort Portal which rests in the shadow of the Rwenzori Mountains.

Day 4-You don't want to miss Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Kibale Forest National Park, for primate viewing.

You will start this activity at 8.00 am in the morning and all day you will search for the chimpanzees and other primates as they swing through the dense forest.

Also can't avoid seeing the variety birds, butterflies and small insects.

Your tour guide will give you some extra details about the primates and all other interesting forest fauna and flora, ensuring that your walk is both informative and enjoyable.

You will also visit the amazing Bigodi eco-tourism swamp where you will encounter some rare and beautiful Uganda plants and animals.

You will have your Lunch, dinner and overnight stay at your best tourist accommodation in Fort Portal for the second night.

Day 5- Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After early breakfast, you will travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain Range most of your journey.

On yourmgame drive enroute you might be to spot some waterbucks, Elephants, Leopards, Buffaloes, Hyenas and a variety of Antelope species.

After lunch, you will take the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. On this cruise you will pass througha niche with possibly the highest concentration of Hippos in Africa, you are also likely to see many animals drinking at the water's edge.

You will have your dinner and overnight stay at your most comfortable Safari Lodge at Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 6- Big Game Viewing along the Kasenyi Track and Travel to Bwindi

After a cup of coffee ,you will take an early morning game drive along Kasenyi track and Queens mile in the park, be ready to see some Lions, Elephants, cape buffalo, Warthogs, leopard, hyena, mangoose, waterbucks, kobs, and lots many small animals and birds.

After the game drive, you will travel from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest via Maramagambo and Ishasha sector.

As you drive along the road via the Ishasha sector, you will still be able to see some animals such as the waterbucks, elephant, antelopes, buffalo, kobs along the road.

So don't put your camera away!

You will arrive at Bwindi in the evening and all you will be able to do is relax around the Forest camp.

Your dinner and overnight stay will be at your choice tourist accommodation near Bwindi Gorilla Park.

Day 7-Its Gorilla Tracking time at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

On the 7 the day of your 9 day Big game safari to Uganda National Parks, take your breakfast early and proceed to Bwind Park head quaters for registration.

Make sure you have your gorilla tracking permit or you will be denied entry into the forest.

The rainforest is spectacular, you will find a dramatic, heavily forested and dense landscape crisscrossed by numerous animal trails.

Whereas you will be able to see other animals in park including the rare golden monkey, buffalo, elephants, black-fronted duikers, bushbucks, leopards,and giant forest hogs.

The most fascinating of all are the endangered Mountain Gorillas.

The thrill of spending time with and observing these gentle giant gorillas is a moving and awesome adventure that will leave to remember. The gorillas are shy and peaceful animals and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact with each other.

Gorilla tracking will end in the evening and you will retire to your tourist accommodation at Bwindi National Park for dinner and overnight stay for the second night.



Day 8- Big Game Viewing at Lake Mburo National Park

After an early breakfast, you will travel to Lake Mburo National Park and enter the Park through the Nshara Gate.

You will the take an afternoon game drive along the lakeshore track.

At shores of Lake Mburo you will find a system of game trails and cleared walk ways, and the "Kigambara Loop" which offer interesting opportunities for guided lakeside walks.

At this Uganda National Park you will find herds of zebra, cape buffalo, eland, Pribi and topi which are easy to approach.

You also have the chance to enjoy a boat trip on Lake Mburo and a self-guided nature trail.

You will return for dinner and overnight accomodation at one of the top safari lodges at Lake Mburo National Park.

Day 9- Travel Back to Kampala and End you African Safari

On the 9th day of your Big game Safari to Uganda National parks, you will head to Kampala in the morning.

Enroute, you will make a stopover at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers.

Here you will be able to watch the ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through generations.

Tip

If you have an early morning flight the next day, then book into your favorite Entebbe Hotel to avoid missing your flight.

However, if you have an evening flight the next day, then you can book into a kampala hotel for one night and take an airport shuttle to Entebbe Airport the following day.
