tax waiver or grace periods

Tax Question
what is the grace period given to investors before starting to pay tax in Uganda called

Answer
A waiver by definition is an act of intentionally relinquishing or abandoning a known right, claim, or privilege; A waiver also also may be used to mean the legal instrument evidencing such an act.

Tax waiver in Uganda for that matter occurs when the Uganda government under some special circumstances relinquishes its rights to collect taxes from a particular organization.

Every financial year Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) publishes a list with companies which have been awarded tax waivers.

In recent years however, tax holidays have been revised by URA citing no change in its predicted monthly revenue collection.
