tax collection methods

Question:
How are the various taxes collected in Uganda?

Answer:
Vat- is collected through returns made by companies of which payment is made by the supplier.

Income tax is collected through returns files which is tentatively paid by the company after filing the return

PAYE is also paid by the company after assessing the employees' salary in the company and a return is filed.

withholding tax is held at source and paid immediately.

Non tax revenue
Stamp duty is paid by the person executing the instrument and depends on the type of instrument being executed.

excise duty, is also collected through returns made by the companies for example mtn on airtime charged at 12% and payment is made after the return is filed
