Custom duty on fertilizers imported into Uganda

Hi , i would like to know the kind of taxes imposed on fertilizers being imported into Uganda. the current rates and any other kind of information associated with the importation of fertilizers.

Thank you Irene for this question. Under the Value Added Tax Act (CAP. 349 of the Laws of Uganda)Section 19(1) provides for exemption of the supply of unprocessed foodstuffs, unprocessed agricultural products and livestock.

We can see that fertilizers are in this category but they must be unprocessed for you to meet the tax exemption criteria.
