I can possibly answer some of your questions. As I am not familiar with Uganda, I can't say anything about the area I may want. I leave this to your judgement until I see your proposals. I can't also make a decision now on my preference ever a house or an appartment.
However, I can say I want an unfurnished place for an initial period of 1 year (renewable).
My price range is US$500 - US$1000.
