Importing precious metals into Uganda

Question:
Our company in Uganda wants to import precious metals into Uganda and want to find out what duty is payable.

Answer:
Hello Vincent, I think once you have the trading licence for precious metals from the Uganda Ministry of Energy and Mineral development which might cost about 2,000,000 Uganda shillings annually you wouldn't be charged any tax to the best of my knowledge.

Precious metals like gold in its raw form is normally tax free in most countries.

Taxes might however accrue from of income tax.
