Gulu Hospital in Northern Uganda Gets Medical Equipment Worth 100million

AMREF Uganda has given medical equipments to Gulu District local government worth 100 million shillings to help in maternal and Child Care, Sexual Reproductive health and Immunization campaign.

The items given include delivery beds, Electronic Microscopes, Digital Blood pressure Machines, multipurpose trolleys, sahli hemoglobin maters, drugs, manual Centrifuge and among others.

Dr. Olwenyi Moses, the maternal health and Child Care, sexual Reproductive Health and Immunization project Manager said they are implementing the above in the district in line with Ministry Of Health VHT policy and to integrate community case management Strategy.

Dr.Olwenyi said it aims at reducing infant Morbidity and Mortality as well as promoting community health generally with the government of Uganda.

He said ARMEF has also purchased VHT Medicines for the management of Malaria, Pneumonia, and Diarrhea at the community level.
The Manager said AMREF has set aside 400 million shillings to roll out their health activities in the 7 districts of Acholi Sub region.

The items shall be taken to different health Centers III and IV in the district which needed such equipments. Gulu district has 14 health centre III and two health centre IV.
