Delta Airlines, one of America’s biggest carriers opened a sales office at the Uganda Manufacturers Association Show-grounds in Kampala, Uganda on 30th June 2011. The ceremony was also attended by Uganda’s Minister of State for Transport, Hon. Stephen Chebrot.
In a code-share agreement with Dutch carrier KLM, Delta Airlines will pick US-bound passengers from Amsterdam and fly them to New York, Boston and Houston as KLM handles the Entebbe - Amsterdam route.
Delta Air Lines flies to more than 350 destinations in nearly 70 countries on six continents, and serves more than 160 million customers each year.
“We are delighted to be opening a ticket office in Kampala, highlighting our commitment to offering the best service for Delta customers in East Africa,” stated a statement from the airline’s regional office.
The Kampala office is expected to serve the carrier’s regional customers from Uganda, Rwanda, Eastern DRC, Southern Sudan and Burundi.
