You will need a gorilla permit before taking this route and therefore ensure that your Uganda tour operator has secured you one as you might not be admitted for the gorilla tracking activity.



DAY 1 - Travel From Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park

On day one you will Travel from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

You will depart from Kampala early morning at 8:00am and head towards western Uganda for Queen Elizabeth national park located in the foothills of the Mountains of the moon, one of the great mountain ranges of the world in Western Uganda.

As you continue to the park you will see different animals and birds given that the park has got about 100 mammal species and a remarkable 606 bird species.

You will have Dinner and spend the night at your best lodge within Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Mweya Safari lodge and Jacaranda lodge are favorites!

Day 2 - Take a Chimpanzee Safari in Kyambura Gorge

On the second day of your Gorilla tracking tour you will take an early excursion to Kyambura gorge to track the fast moving and elusive chimpanzees.

Though seeing these mobile chimpanzees is un predictable the walk is wonderful because you find other interesting features within the forest.

Alternatively you could visit the Maramagambo Forest where you will see the bat cave, the blue lake and several primates.

In the afternoon you will take a launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel here you be able see a good number of hippos, solitary buffaloes, and a vast array of birds.

In the evening you will take a game drive in the park.

You will then return to your hotel for dinner and overnight lodging.



Day 3 - Depart from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Forest Gorilla Park

On the third day of your gorilla tracking tour you will depart early morning from Queen Elizabeth National Park for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, passing either via Ishasha, the well known spot for the tree climbing lion, or through an alternative route passing through cultivated expanses.

Tip

Insist to go through Isasha if you 'Must See' a tree climbing lion.

After your lunch, go for a nature walk or a community visit, which you're likely to complete late in the evening.

You will spend the night at either Lake Kitandara luxury tents or Buhoma Community bandas.

Tip

You also have to book this tented accommodation for 2 nights.



Day 4- The long awaited Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest

On the dee day of your gorilla tracking tour you will have to wake up quite early, have an early morning breakfast, and then proceed to the Bwindi park headquarters for briefing by the Gorilla Tracking guides.

You will then set off for your Gorilla tracking activity in the forests of Bwindi.

Tip

Gorilla tracking can be strenuous, and you will need to carry packed lunch, drinking water, wear comfortable boots or jungle shoes suitable for steep muddy slopes, put on ear plugs if you feel uncomfortable with jungle sounds and also take a rain jacket.

You will be given a Walking stick by the park rangers if you ask for it.

You will then have your dinner and overnight at your Bwind lodging tent for the second time.



DAY 5- Drive Back to Kampala from Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Day five will be your last day for this Uganda Gorilla Safari.

After taking an early breakfast at your Bwind safari lodge, you will depart for Kampala. Have your Lunch enroute and you will reach Kampala by evening.

Tip

If you have an early morning flight, then book into your favorite Entebbe Hotel to avoid missing your flight.

However, if you have an evening flight the next day, then you can book into a kampala hotel for one night and take an airport shuttle to Entebbe Airport the following day.
